Is this a "Select" Program?

No, however it is competitive.  All kids will play and there will only be tryouts when we are required to have two teams at the same grade level. The tryouts would then be used to ensure an equal and fair team building (draft) process.

What are the player eligibility requirements?

All eligibility requirements are subject to the rules, restrictions and guidelines of the league that the LCFCA partners with.

The LCFCA is a "grade pure" association having at least one team for each grade.

Grades:

Kindergarten and First  Grade will play flag football.

2nd Grade through 6th grade will play tackle football.

What are the coaching qualifications?

All Coaches in the league are required to be certified through USAFootball.com and must be approved by the Board of Directors.  Part of the Board of Directors review will include a background check.

Will there be Cheerleading?

Yes.  Please refer to the Cheer section of this website for more information.

Where will practices be?

We plan on having practice at the Lake Dallas park near the Middle School.  We will have more information on practice locations as we get closer to the season.

Do I need to buy equipment?

The association does not provide equipment (helmet or shoulder pads).  .However, we are partnering with local businesses to provide affordable options for required equipment.  Also, we have priced tackle football well below the market price.  Over $200 less than some associations that border our city.  The association will provide a game jersey to all registered football players, as well as cheer uniforms for Cheerleading.

All players will be required to purchase their own game pants (black), game socks (black), mouth guard, practice apparel, cleats, gloves, etc. A complete list of recommended equipment will be provided to registered players as we get closer to the season.

Is the league affiliated with Lake Dallas Falcons?

The LCFCA does attempt to plan activities with the LDHS Falcons; however the league has no official affiliation with the High School.    We hold games at the high school field and run out of the tunnel with the varsity team at one of their games.  LDHS Varsity Football and their coaches have been very supportive of our league.  In return we will continue to support LDHS Athletics and promote their programs when able.

What is parent involvement?

The association aims to become an integral part of the Lake Cities Community and parents or supporters can get involved in numerous ways. Those interested will have many opportunities to support the teams by working the chains, helping at practices, etc.  The league also plans to engage in activities that will support our local communities (i.e. canned food drive for a local charity, Toy drives, and scholarship fund raisers).
